Elma McKenzie qualified as a Radiographer at the University of Pretoria. She changed careers to pursue her passion for Somatology. The blend between science and beauty has positioned her uniquely as a medical esthetical professional with international accreditation.

In January 1977 Elma started the first beauty Clinic in the Highveld area. From humble beginnings, she built her business up to the well-known Elma McKenzie Spa, Beauty & Laser Clinic.

For many years she worked in all the surrounding towns in order to build a bigger clientele. In 2010 her Beauty Clinic won the Professional Beauty Award as “ Best Beauty Clinic in South Africa”. This Clinic was nominated several times under the top 3 Beauty Clinics in the country.

After 41 years in Ermelo, Elma relocated in March 2018 to Pretoria where she started the Elma McKenzie Laser Clinic. As founder of Placècol and with her well-known reputation in the Beauty Industry, it didn’t take long to establish a successful Clinic again. (Read the Placecol Story).

 

As a Radiographer Elma has a special interest in all types of Radiation and is an expert in Laser Therapy. She has 5 different Laser machines in her clinic to treat a variety of different skin conditions.  She also patented her laser treatment: Elma McKenzie Laser Treatment Method.
